Brindisi, the provincial capital, from the white villages in the most distant Murge hills, to the old towns that grew up in the shadows of the Castles, the area offers a rich heritage of features that reflect its history, art, folklore, handicrafts and traditions.....A LAND KISSED BY THE SUN, a territory generous in nature, art and history, a beautiful coast, altogether made to measure for holidays whether you prefer to laze on the beach or follow new paths where you can discover caves, castles, cathedrals, rock dwellings, trulli and old manor houses. Here were placed the terminal columns of the "Appian Way", and here died Publio Virgilio Marone, the writer of "Eneide".

Among thousands of enchanting spots, the tourists will also find the warmth of authentic hospitality, the comfort of modern and varied facilities, the pleasure of carrying out their favourite activities in their free time, the enjoyment of getting to know a long series of old traditions, the enticement of the authentic and particularly tasty cuisine. The archaeological heritage is one of the most significant reasons for tourist and cultural interest in this province, all waiting to be discovered.

It's geographical position and favourable climate have made this territory an ideal place for human settlements ever since the most antiquity.

Fortification is the most significant expression of civil architecture. castles and coastal towers are situated all along the coastline that was considered by W.W.F. one of the cleanest of Italy. A particularly interesting area on the shore is at Torre Guaceto, wich was declared a wetland of international interest at Ramsar convention in 1971, and became a marine nature reserve in 1990.
